Christoph Draeger is a conceptual artist who is often working with themes of disaster, destruction and their representation in the media. His projects take form in installation, video, sculptures and photo-based media. Recent solo exhibitions include Kunstpavillon Innsbruck; Xandbeyond, Copenhagen; Young Projects, Los Angeles; CACY, Yverdon-les Bains; Kunsthaus Rapperswil;  Kunsthalle Arbon; OK Centrum Linz, Kunstmuseum Solothurn; Kunsthaus Zurich; Orchard Gallery, Derry; Centre of Contemporary Art, Ujazdowskie Castle, Warsaw; Roebling Hall, New York

Christoph Draeger has been teaching workshops at the International Summer Academy in Salzburg; at HEAD, Geneva; ZHDK, Zurich; UEM Madrid. Since 2016, he is professor in the Master programme at Academy of Fine Arts in Umeå  and UAFA Director of Studies.

Draeger received the Swiss National Art Award in 1994. In 1994 and 1995 he was awarded the Kiefer-Hablitzel grant, in 1996/97 the P.S.1 International Studio Program residency from Switzerland, and in 2004 the Bessie Award of the New York Performance Arts Association for best stage design on Miguel Guettierez' Damnation Road at the Kitchen in New York; The grant of the city of Zurich 2015, and the grant of the canton of Zurich 2005, 2008, 2013; He was awarded the following residency fellowships: Headlands Center for the Arts, San Francisco 2003, Landis&Gyr in London 2006,  Centre of Contemporary Art Ujazdowskie Castle in Warsaw 2007, Pro Helvetia in Cairo 2008 and Delhi 2015.
